Meet the latest couple in the Chupi Engagement Series: Evelyn & Jon. Their love story first began on Tinder four years ago, and since then they've moved to England, where they first met. Evelyn tells us how Jon had many secret calls with the Chupi Team to choose her dream engagement ring and why the piece is so important to them.

We met on Tinder, 4 years ago! I'm originally from Co Clare, Ireland and Jon Hood originally from the Isle of Man and we're now both living in Bedford, England where we met.

We were away in the Cotswolds for the weekend before Christmas (under the government guidance at the time, but it did change while we were away). We were staying in Kingham and had planned some lovely meals and walks to make the most of the fresh air and beautiful countryside.

We enjoyed a lovely meal and a few cocktails on Friday evening and we were set for our walk on Saturday morning. The day started out beautifully with clear skies and sunshine, but it quickly changed to rain and part of our walk was flooded which meant we had to turn back. I didn't think anything of it and was still enjoying myself, jumping around in the puddles and hopping over gates covered in mud.

As soon as I saw the trademark Chupi gold feather tissue paper around the ring, I knew what was happening!

We came across a small village cafe and had a cup of tea to warm up. We decided to go for a stroll around the village once the sun came back out (Jon had already spotted the cute bridge in the village online in advance!) and continued on our walk. Once we came across the bridge, we were set to walk across it but then Jon wouldn't get off! He reached in to his pocket and had the Chupi ring hidden in a small coin purse (the beautiful pink velvet box was too obvious to carry around!!).

As soon as I saw the trademark Chupi gold feather tissue paper around the ring, I knew what was happening! I was speechless for once and let Jon say what he needed to say before replying with a resounding yes to the question I had been waiting for! We went on to enjoy champagne, more cocktails and fabulous food that evening.

I always knew that I wanted a grey diamond Chupi ring and I'm delighted with the ring that Jon chose! Chupi's values and ethos as a sustainable, Irish business are important to me.

I have always loved Chupi jewellery. Jon had given me some pieces from Chupi before, for example, The Solid Cold 1990 Stag Coin necklace to mark my 30th birthday in September.

Since we live in England, Jon was able to have video calls with the Chupi team who made everything as easy as possible. So easy, that I didn't notice anything!! Jon was able to order the ring online and have it delivered safely and discreetly.

I always knew that I wanted a grey diamond Chupi ring and I'm delighted with the ring that Jon chose! Chupi's values and ethos as a sustainable, Irish business are important to me. It's so unusual and I'm getting lots of compliments! My Chupi Engagement Ring reminds me of happy memories, Ireland, home.

We haven't made any plans yet due to the current travel restrictions with guests coming from Ireland and the Isle of Man, but I have my eye on a Chupi wedding ring too!
