But not all women will wear rings on this finger (it's kind of a superstition not to put a ring on it, until you put the ring on it!), so a ring she wears on the other ring finger can do for a close match.
2. Enlist the Help of Friends or Family
If you want to keep the proposal a surprise, enlist the help of your partner's friends or family. They can subtly ask or find a way to borrow one of their rings for sizing. Often, they might already know the size or have easy access to this information.
