Designing a Chupi Claddagh Ring for Nicola Coughlan

I have sketchbooks full of attempts to bring a modern Chupi Claddagh ring to life, but it was only when Ireland’s Queen of Hearts, Nicola Coughlan, reached out and asked for a Chupi Claddagh ring that they truly came to life.

Like the rest of the world, I've fallen in love with Nicola Coughlan, not just her portrayal in Bridgerton as Penelope Featherington & Lady Whistledown, but her politics and outspoken views. She is the undisputed Queen of Hearts.

The heart of the Claddagh ring, symbolizing love, is set with a 2ct lab-grown diamond. Held in a pair of hands that honor friendship and strength, with the left hand wearing a Chupi North Star signet ring. Crowned with three marquise diamonds that both represent the traditional emblem of loyalty and also symbolize the past, present & future along with a nod to the fact this is the 3rd season of Bridgerton for Nicola Coughlan. The ring is set on a signature Chupi hawthorn twig, cast from a hawthorn tree in 14k gold.

Each of the Claddagh pieces has had 13 pairs of hands make them in Ireland. From sketch, to model, to 3D print, to final master, to cast, to polish, to diamond setting and beyond, this is a piece of the future. Our incredible partners Castleyard took this from a sketch to sparkling reality in just 4 weeks.
