Meet the loving hands behind your Chupi heirloom. We are incredibly proud of the care that goes into making each piece of precious jewellery and work with some of the best craftspeople here in Ireland to create our collections.

There is a wealth of creative talent and craftsmanship in our team – from our founder and designer Chupi to our master goldsmiths and our highly skilled jewellers, we have over 100 years experience in making beautiful pieces.

Responsible practices are at the heart of everything we do, so all of our precious jewellery is made using sustainable, carbon-neutral recycled gold and conflict-free diamonds.

Barry, Master Caster

Barry has been casting jewellery since 1974. Barry started in the jewellery trade by chance, his brother was a goldsmith and asked Barry to go in and collect his wages one day and his boss asked him if he would like a job!

“Jewellery is so precious and sentimental and the best of work should go into it. Some of these designs will end up as engagement rings and to think that we have some small input into it is just fantastic.”

Mariola - Diamond Setter

Mariola and her husband Lukasz set up their studio in the Wicklow Mountains 12 years ago.

“Craftsmanship is part of our life, it’s with us every single day. All my life I’ve been making with my hands and I’m so proud to know that the pieces we make are shipped all around the world.”

Colm, Master Caster

Colm has been casting jewellery for 38 years.

"We're really happy to keep the making of precious jewellery here in Ireland. Keeping the craft and the skills alive. To me, craftsmanship means quality. I'm very proud of what we do."

Lukasz, Diamond Setter

Along with his wife Mariola, Lukazs set up his studio in the Wicklow Mountains.

"I’m very passionate about what we do. People are what make what we do very special. Ireland gives us an opportunity for our dream to come true and we do what we love to do.”

“It’s a lifestyle, it’s not a 9-5 job. Everything you produce, even if it’s the smallest thing, you always put a bit of yourself into it. There’s a hunger and drive to create and give, that’s what craftsmanship means to me.”

Damien, Goldsmith

Damien has been a goldsmith for 27 years.

“I’ve been working with precious metal for the last 27 years. It’s something that you have to keep working at, and it’s only when you make a mistake that you know how to move on from that. At this stage in my life, there’s no more mistakes!”

“Craftsmanship to me is everything. To me, it’s my hands, my eyes, what I see, what I do, it’s my life. I hope that every piece that I make has a little piece of my craftsmanship passed on. Every Chupi piece I’ve made will last a lifetime.”

Chupi, CEO & Designer

Chupi Sweetman designs timeless fine jewellery to celebrate life’s most precious moments of love, hope and everything in between. Her award-winning pieces are created to intended to mark every chapter in life’s perfectly imperfect journey; to be worn as a connection to our past and serve as heirlooms for our next generations.

“When I started Chupi, I fell in love with the idea that jewellery is a piece of the future. Each piece is about the moment it will mark, how we commemorate those moments in our lives. Traditionally, diamonds have only served women on hallmark days but in reality, our lives are far more complex. We have loss, bravery, hope… We mark all those moments, with a strong belief in better. Not perfect, but better.”
