Meet the latest couple in the Chupi Engagement Series: Lisa & Eoin. They met for the first time in 2013 but it wasn't until 5 years ago that their story began. Lisa tells us the story of their engagement last August and the special meaning behind her Chupi Engagement Ring.

We met at work, back in 2013. It was the middle of the recession; Eoin started in the company a month before I did and when we first met, I thought Eoin was the smiliest person I had ever seen & he said he was a little scared of me! We got to know each other as friends & lived our own lives until almost 5 years ago when Eoin suggested we hang out outside of work, to which I replied 'Are you asking me on a date?' and our story began there. Our first date was on my birthday and we went to the Nightmare Realm - not your typical romantic first date, but we are not very typical in anything we do!

For our third date, we went ice skating where I fell over and broke my wrist! While Eoin laughed at first thinking I was joking, he soon realised I wasn't; he really looked after me & even made me laugh through the pain - that was when I really knew I had found a keeper!

My Engagement ring is a You, Me and Magic grey diamond flanked with two clear diamonds and I just ADORE it. Even now, over 6 months later I catch myself staring at it and admiring it!

Eoin's birthday is August 16th, so on August 14th last year we went to Cork for the day to celebrate and have dinner. While we were chatting over dinner, the topic of Engagements came up and Eoin very convincingly said 'I won't tell you when but I will tell you it won't be anytime soon' so I impatiently endeavored to wait a while longer and we enjoyed our day.

Little did I know that at that time, Eoin's heart rate went through the roof knowing it would be happening in only a few hours' time! Eoin got down on one knee later that evening at our home in Lismore surrounded by our two fur-babies, who also played a great part in the proposal. There were screams of excitement, tears of joy & amazement at the level of organisation & thought that went into making this the most special moment. I could not have imagined anything better!

I have always known what Chupi Engagement ring I wanted. I have been an admirer of Chupi pieces for a long, long time so had of course mentioned this. Eoin was actually very familiar with Chupi already having bought me the Love Heart ring for my 30th birthday!

I love how different Chupi pieces are and I also adore gold. My Engagement ring is a You, Me and Magic grey diamond flanked with two classic diamonds and I just ADORE it. Even now, over 6 months later I catch myself staring at it and admiring it!

When I look at my ring now, I feel beyond content. It symbolises pure love, our commitment to each other & the life we enjoy together.

Eoin purchased the ring online with the help of my sister and best friend, Amy. However, when it arrived they knew it would be much too small for me. Eoin called to see what his options were and there happened to be just one ring in my size left in the store, however it couldn't be held for him. At this stage, he was feeling a lot of panic, he created an elaborate story so I would be none the wiser and raced up to Dublin the following day. When he got to the store, he was told the ring was gone (again, much panic!). Miraculously, one of the lovely team members had indeed put it aside with his name on it!!! I have since gotten my ring resized and the team could not be more accommodating & are just so lovely to deal with.

I knew what style of ring I wanted so he was definitely prepared but Eoin had the final say to keep an element of surprise! When I look at my ring now, I feel beyond content. It symbolises pure love, our commitment to each other & the life we enjoy together.

We booked our wedding at the end of last year! We will be getting married in September 2022 in Killarney, Co. Kerry and we cannot wait to enjoy the celebrations with our closest family & friends.
