Be inspired by stories of love and magic, as we share some of our favourite ways Chupi pieces have helped you celebrate your most special moments.

This week, we fall in love with Roisin and Tom’s beautiful, elegant and fun-filled wedding day in Ballymagarvey Village. Roisin takes us behind the scenes to talk inspiration, picking precious wedding jewellery and the day’s most unforgettable moments.

On how it started…

Tom and I met through friends when I moved to London in 2015. Tom went to college in Trinity so we had lots of mutual friends though we never met when in Ireland.

Five years later, Tom surprised me by proposing when we were in New York in January 2020 (right before Covid hit). We had a party with friends when we got home, not knowing it would be our last for quite a considerable time!

On planning a post-Covid wedding

We both love autumn, so we knew we wanted it to be in October as the colours are so beautiful. As it was the first wedding most of our guests had been to in a long time we really wanted it to feel relaxed but most importantly fun!

On memorable moments

Walking up the aisle and seeing all the people I love in one room smiling back at me was a moment I will never forget.

On personal floral touches

My mum grew the table and buttonhole flowers in the garden of our family home in Kilkenny. It was lovely looking around and having a bit of home with me on the day.

On picking wedding rings

I was really struggling with choosing my wedding band, and it was Chupi who gave me the great advice to think of a ring that I would still love in 40 years. I chose the Classic Domed Edge ring with a thin band as my wedding band as I love the simplicity of it and how nicely it stacks with my other rings. Tom chose the Polished Hawthorn wide band as it matches my twig band engagement ring on the inside while maintaining the classic polished finish on the outside.

As part of the Chupi Production Team, I get to work directly with our wonderful goldsmiths. Knowing the passion and care that they put into every piece, I couldn’t have gone anywhere else for my wedding pieces!

On a sweet (and sparkling) wedding day surprise

Tom gifted me the Evil Eye gold diamond necklace on the morning of the wedding, which I adore. My wonderful team also gifted me the Evil Eye eternity band to match my necklace.

Each piece means so much to me. I love that my Evil Eye necklace and ring symbolise protection and good fortune, both for myself wearing them now and for the generations who will wear them in years to come.

On the dreamiest wedding heels

I got my shoes from Harriet Wilde and fell in love with the gold floral pieces you could add to the back of your shoes, and how you can have the soles personalised with your wedding date. I also loved all of the options of jewel-toned colours they had, though the blue velvet pair won me over in the end!

On tunes to beat the band

We had seen Spring Break play at a friend’s wedding a few years ago and knew that the 80s music would get lots of generations up dancing – and they did not disappoint.

On a wedding tip to remember

The weeks leading up to the day itself can be quite busy and stressful but I would say really take the time to enjoy that lead-up – say yes to all of the celebrations with your friends and family. The day itself goes by so quickly so really enjoy it all!
